As with other seasonal greetings, I wanted to make sure Compaq’s Christmas message to its users was locally relevent and fun. In this game, the user drags around the female shopper to each of the counters. Upon getting an item, she must first pay for it at the register and then hand it over to her dutiful boyfriend. However, she must take care because although her boyfriend will trudge after her with his armful of packages, if she’s not careful, one of the other frantic shoppers might grab one from him and she’ll need to go back to the counter again. She only has a few minutes before midnight and once the clock tolls, the sale ends, Christmas begins and she’s failed in the most important activity of the year.

The faster she can get to all the counters and get her boyfriend and the gifts out the door, the higher up she goes on the ‘Best Shoppers of Singapore’ list for all Compaq users to see, admire and compete with!
